Last year I carried out research on the nuclear background radiation in the Shivapuri area.
I ended up with the following conclusion:

Though tolerable to humans, certain locations have higher level of natural radioactivity in the soil. The locations are Tokha Jhor area, Budhanilakantha, Salinadi area and Narayan Khola.

Good to see a different blog, keep it up. Firstly I will confess, I am layman to nuclear physics.
I am anxious about the numbers that you unearthed, I don't know about Nepal, but in the United States, the annual estimated average effective dose equivalent from radiation is 360 mrem per adult. Out of which terrestrial radiation accounts for 28 mrem.
